Active Self Protection: NM Deputy Puts 50 Rounds On Vehicle Shooting At Him While Fleeing At High Speed

OHP did the same thing a few years back. One of our currently inactive OSA members was in on that chase and the final shoot when the criminal left his vehicle. He was there but did not fire a shot for the record.
I remember that one
Wow. Glad the officers came out unscathed. Not sure how I feel about the choice to fire that many rounds while driving that fast and oncoming traffic in the mix. Either way, it worked out and the only apparent injury/death was the bad guy.

The title of the video needs to be reworked. The deputy manually deposited 50 rounds on the surface of the vehicle? The vehicle was shooting at the deputy? Who was fleeing?

I won't say shooting thru your windshield should NEVER be done, but... This was a clear example of how and when NOT to do it. That deputy seemed completely out-of-control at a few points in the video.
I thought the 'leave-the-car-in-gear-to-use-as-concealment-as-it-rolls-forward' was a pretty innovative tactic.
