I would recommend a Rock Island from Sarco for under 450 bucks. If you learn to love the 1911 like most of us do then you can sell it for about the same money and then buy an expensive one with the features you want.

I just got a RIA Tactical for Christmas. I love it. I'd recommend it for the comfort, quality, overall feel, overall look and affordablity. And like farmer17 said, if you don't like it you can always sell it.
