If you are wanting a wood stock, I would look into Boyd's stocks. I have heard a lot of good things about their stocks.

I do prefer a non-wood stock due to the fact that weather can make a wood stock swell or warp. Besides, I am a little rough on gun stocks and do not like to scratch the wooden one up.

If you want to get into a wooden stock, and don't mind doing the final finishing, try EBay. I got a beautiful walnut stock for my Mod 12 Win. and finished it the way I wanted to.
