Aimpoint acro p2 glass broken

Went on duty Friday, shot a little bit at the house before leaving, had absolutely no issues with my optic. About midnight after searching a car I noticed my dot looked funny, closer examination showed the glass was shattered and had a hole in it. No recollection whatsoever of ever hitting or bumping it but obviously I hit it on something…anyone else seen anything like this?

THIS is exactly why I’ve thought red dots on duty and carry guns is a horrible idea.

Dot is still 100 functional, and the dot is still visible, it’s even sighted in.

Looks like something just hit it at the perfect angle. Aluminum at top looks like it took a decent impact, unless that's just the picture.

Two year warranty for duty optics , they will still fix it for you but it won't be free if you're outside the two year warranty. Its 10 years for non professional or non competitive use if that makes you feel better

Hmmm, if the screen is shattered it might be hard to see a front sight through the broken glass. In this case you might, but some I have seen, you are reduced to point shooting.
