I have a Diana also, but without that newer picatinny section. It is a great little gun. It is a 177 also. It has an air rifle scope on it, and although it is not exactly a tack driver, you can keep it in a tennis ball sized group at about 30 or so yards. It's a barrel cocker, made in the Mutterland. bought it from a now long gone pawn shop for $100.
My older son, Tyler, has a Chinese made 177 that is a lever cocker. Almost looks like it is an SKS. Anyway, it shoots straight too. I think it was $50.
FWIW, many a squirrels went the way of the coyote in my mom's back yard and at the creek with my pump up, inexpensive Crossman, when I was a kid. I got in trouble when I sniped one that was in our neighbor's tree. It fell in to her back yard, and her little dog ran over and tore it up. I didn't realize she was out there, and screamed. I think I was 14 at the time.
