This came in from the CMP today.

The wood looks brand new, and the finish is almost perfect. It came with sights, sling, and manual.

Not bad for less than $140 to my door.

Is it a pellet or BB gun? What can you tell us about it.
It's a .177 caliber pellet rifle. They were used for training cadets. They are single pump and single shot, with a Lothar Walther barrel. The muzzle velocity is relatively low since they are target rifles. They are pretty accurate for an inexpensive sporter air rifle.

The other two that I have bear military markings.

The CMP replaces the gas seals before they ship them out.

More information can be found at https://thecmp.org/sales-and-service/sporter-air-rifles/

Daisy also made an inexpensive air pistol with a Lothar Walther barrel (model numbers 747 and 777). With a few modifications, their accuracy can be quite competitive. However, the pistols were not used as military trainers.
