I fish there several times a year. This last year or two it’s kind of been on a bad run. All of my bluegill and redear have been small. Also, the bass catch has been kinda slow.

American horse is deep, but it’s very small surface wise. You definitely just need a small boat and a small outboard. A lot of standing timber.

Typically, it’s a good place for eater size channel catfish. 1-3lb bass, and dang good sunfish. I have caught black crappie there as well, but they tend to be small and kind of skinny in my experience.

There are nice primitive campsites. Plenty of potential to hunt small game. Good duck hunting from what I hear as well.

It’s kind of a little hidden gem. Just watch out for all the meth heads from Watonga and Geary lol
