How did you get the high relief look in the grain? what kind of wood?
Looks like Ash to me... 
Its all lumber yard 2x10 or 2x12 pine (I forget which).
Use a propane torch, the lighter grain burns quicker than the darker grain so hover over it and bam...what was light grain is now extra dark...

Huh. My sister stained & finished an Ash entertainment center years ago, and it had a similar wood grain pattern.
