Another new cartridge.......400 Legend.

Anyone have any insight as to why you would only allow a straight walled cartridge?

I believe their thinking is that most straight wall cartridges don’t send bullets flying much farther than the intended target, I think velocity is another thing too.

I may be wrong though.

I’m sure you’re right. Those states finally allowing straight walled cartridges is progress to the guys I know that hunt there. Most of the guys I know in those states though are muzzleloader hunters and get better velocities and range out of their smoke poles than the straight walled cartridges.

Ahh, Come on convert one of them AR 12's to a rifled barrel, straight wall case 700 Nitro. Now that would be some serious firepower and fun.
