I was only responding to the story in the OP (and no offence, Matt)
Dennis, if you really think edged weapons are as good as firearms, I'll buy that safe full of rifles from you on the cheap.

We're talking about two particular cases which happened today on different sides of the world, with different results. No comparisons or metaphors. No hyperbole. The one thing is not the same as the other thing.

Not to worry folks, the tragedy today will give Obama and cronies the perfect excuse to ban "assault weapons" and like before the public sentiment will keep the Republicans from blocking it.

As stated in the OP, what was posted was not meant to diminish what happened today in CT in any way. It's a tragedy, my heart and prayers go out to all of those families. However, to blame the weapon involved instead of the person wielding it is simply ludicrous, which is how much of the media trying to portray it. Don't try to demonize the tool, it's the person that wields it.

If it makes a great deal of difference that the children in China lived today, here's a few other stories where some weren't so "fortunate".

Moral of the story: people are screwed up.

Yeah Matt, I guess I see what you were trying to say, and I pretty much agree. Again, no offense.

No offense taken,at all. I've been sitting here all day trying to make sense of it...and I can't. It's absolutely horrible and I couldn't imagine what those families are going through. This kills me, not only as a parent, but as a person.
