I agree. The SW OKC area between Mustang and Yukon has been terrible infrastructure wise and OKC just keeps on approving new Housing Developments. The OKC planning commission and City council are rubber stamps for developers.
Sounds like PIedmont.
I think they should close Piedmont to new housing, get on a waiting list.

Yeah they need to fix that and that's also the same entrance into Qdoba. Then you have all the people that turn left and park in the middle lane waiting for traffic to go by so they can merge. It's bad. I can't imagine what it's going to look like when that Chifila is complete.
I predict CFA brings a light in. It's taken me 24 minutes to get from the Dominos Pizza on the east side of Mustang to the Dominos Pizza on the West side of mustang before.
(that was the last time I didn't double check who was making my dinner)

Well out here in Western Oklahoma, our Populations are less than half of what they used to be in 1970.
Our problems our the opposite. Roads are rough and worn, but they do not need widened.
Student population is less than half also, but we are still building new schools, so that burdens the Land owners with extra property taxes. Technology and Bigger Equipment coming along no need for Laborer Jobs. Pretty much zero for anything, If you live out here you better be able to come up with your own ability to create a business for yourself. Independent Owner Operator was my choice for the longest. Most choose to work for the state welfare system like SNAP and having kids out of wedlock to increase the checks. Even with those kids there is no increase in population. We only have One Housing Complex in our town. HUD. 25 or so Duplexes. I have told the wife for years we need to sell out before the town hits complete bottom.
Then I see the problems you guys are having and think, I really enjoy that I can feel fairly safe when I pull out of my drive. We have the occasional Mario Andretti that you have to watch for but, nothing like Mustang traffic.
Then my Son lives in Austin, about three times the traffic level as Mustang maybe more.
I suppose I should be Happy and stay put. Just Hope Wife and I can stay well enough in the Golden Years to drive and travel the 70 mile round trip for Groceries and the increasing trips to Doctors.

I kind of chuckle some times thinking about the Horse and Buggy days my Grandpa and Grandma used to live in when they were children on into young adult hood, before they could get motorized transportation.
They had the same gripes, Ruts so deep in the roads they would get stuck going to town. When they would get to town, Main street was to small, no place to park the buggy on Friday night. The only time they went to town like most, in that time. They spent daylight to dusk working on the farm, not much extra time. They also traveled seasonal from Eastern Oklahoma to Western Oklahoma to pick and pull cotton during the fall. Slept in a Covered wagon. Cut Broom corn in Pauls Valley area. Cut black jacks for fence posts to sell out west. When Grandpa was real young, he had a route he ran with his horse and buggy delivering Shine in and around Ada. Mentioned Machine Gun Kelly and Pretty Boy Floyd and friends, would commonly hide in the area. They were hero's to the poor because they were robbing banks and destroyed the bank books and also they did not dare to rat them out, for fear of retaliation, because you could not trust law enforcement either.
Funny every Generation has almost the same problems.
Life is Grand.
Probably be pretty boring if we did not have struggles.
Seems to be hard to see the positives in life sometimes, the struggles are real.
Sometimes a look back can help keep a guy to stay in perspective. It does for me anyway.

I do Hope OKC can come up with some better solutions. Maybe find some Leaders that ain't crooks and only care about their selves and money. Taking the Under Table Money and allowing big investors to start there building projects long before infrastructure is ready to handle the building. Seems like they always use the most productive land to build on too.

Keep up the Good Fight it makes Life worth the Living when it is Granted to Us.
I Hope my ignorance and lack of education does not bore, you City Folks, but in case you can't tell we just got internet out here in the west, and I am trying to wear it out.

If it Helps you are welcome to Laugh and poke fun at me. My wife has calloused me up pretty good over the last about 40 tears, I mean Years. Not that I am tough, just a little slow.

Thanks Mr. OP.

I can tell you the old saying “you can’t fight city hall” is true. They pay attention to the developers before the citizens. You can pack the council meetings, but if they have their minds made up before you will not get very far. More Tax money is working against you.
Yup. It's time to vote these kind of politicians out of office every time. Yea I have no doubt they've already made up their mind. I'll bet NONE of them live in the area where their lives will be disrupted for years. Trouble is where to move where it won't happen again except maybe a mountain top somewhere...lol

I live near 29th and Morgan too. At 29th/15th and County Line, there are about 1,500 houses and apartments going in the next 5-10 years.
yep, I live on county line rd. and sw 44th. County line is a bad road from 152 to sw15th and will need attention soon and likely widened with traffic lights every mile. I hate all this growth.

Mustang traffic is already ridiculous. Apparently they’re just gonna keep developing into oblivion. I’m out by Tuttle and it’s happening here too.. so much development. So many city slickers moving out here. I guess it’s good for the economy or whatever, but sheesh!
I left Tuttle 7 or 8 years ago and I moved there in 2000, before the housing boom really got started. I bought the only new house I saw in all of Tuttle and surrounding areas. Because 37 was widened to 5 lanes, that brought it on followed by a new SH4 route to Mustang. Build it and they will come. I also bought the 2, 2.5 acre lots next to mine just so I wouldn't have a next door neighbor. That proved to be a great purchase because when I sold it, I made a $75,000 profit. Land prices are always going up.
