They will probably approve it even over the objections. That is what they did for the development on Morgan Rd. 1/2 south of 59th st. We had 76% of the residents near the proposed development sign a petition against it. It also went against the long range plan. They still approved it.

Unfortunately you may be correct. With what is happening in this country meaning who would like to move away from it can’t. Interest rates will be going up. Housing prices are already up and moving cots with gas prices up will eat away at any profit you might make off the sale of a house.

Those who run Mustang have become greedy and corrupt just like every where else of late.

We still need to get as many residents from Bittercreek, Twin Brook and Canadian Estates at the meeting and make it known we don’t want or need it! At least then we can say we went down fighting rather than rolled over like sheep. Oh Vote every member of the City Council out!

Action alert. Planning mtg tonight 6/14 7pm at city council chambers. If you live in Canadian Estates, Twin Brook or Bittercreek be there to voice your opinion. If we loose at least we’ve done something other than let the gooberment roll over us yet again.

How did it go?
Well not good only 14 people showed up. The Planning Dept recommended it go thru. This now goes to a city council vote on 7/14/22 at 7pm in the council chambers. This meeting really needs to be packed with objections. Someone needs to bring up Jay Adams saying that there is not a clamoring for senior housing in Mustang. Heck they have an area in Yukon and another one off 59th and County Line Not too mention the other one in Mustang off Mustang Rd. Those type units lease for over $1200 a month. With the forecast for the real estate market the developer might not be finding qualified buyers. The senior duplexes will be gated. Other areas will have an HOA for all those perks for residents like walking trails and clubhouse. So much for Mustang’s vision of walking trails and such for all Mustang’s residents. The area will essentially only be for residents in the development.

Guess we’ll see what happens. I don’t know what the result of contacting the oil lease people but I doubt they’ll give permission to use their access roads. Also the Planning Dept was assured by the developer that there won’t be any weed dispensary in the commercial area. See the final plat plan below. Approximately 418 units.

The only real way to stop it is to buy the land. The person/corporation that owns the land does have a right to develop the land based on currently zoning or zoning that can be approved. At this point, only political power complaining to the existing council can stop it from moving forward.

Of course the council will approve it. Think of all the money, just from building permits!

Then after the development is finished, more permits for fences, pools, storage buildings, etc.

It's always about the money. Always.
I hadn’t thought about building permits and such. Good point and yup it’s always about the money not the citizens. When they run out of room and they will what then?
