I built a 71 from the frame up several years back, loved it. It had soft ride system with 3 inch lift, ford motorsport 400hp 302 with roller rockers and a ton of other stuff. I will drag a pic out tomorrow and post it. I wish I still had it, was a blast to drive!

Sold my '72 in 2005, and miss it. Made the mistake of dolling it all up with nice paint, etc. Make a guy not want to take it into the mud and sticks as God intended. I've said I'll have another one some day. Terrible mileage, but easy to work on - everything is so basic. Here's mine before I was finished with it. Grabber Green, 302/C4, 35" BFGs, 2" body and 3.5" suspension lift, etc.

I had a '66 bronco halfcab for years. had a 170cu inch 6 banger in it. upped it to a 250-6cyl and drove it for 15 years.
the torque in that 6cyl and its light weight I never got stuck where the v8's would sink in the mud pits.

Since it's story time,
I had a 76 when I lived in Quito Ecuador. 302 w/3spd.
I wheeled it for about a year. Toured the Andies, Amazon, and Pacific coast.
It never broke down, but really needed a 2nd fuel tank.
Brakes on these trucks suck!
