I love all motorsports; F1, NASCAR, NHRA, Fastest Street Car type drag racing, Sprint Cars, Off-Road, WRC, DTM, etc. I think Australian V8 Supercars are my favorite, can't wait to see them in Austin if they come back. If it has wheels, makes a lot of noise and goes fast I will watch it. Heck I remember watching the swamp buggies on as kid on the old country music channal before it became CMT.
I do think it is funny to hear F1 fans bad mouth NASCAR though. I love the technology, spectacle and the sounds of F1, but the races are often boring with the leader winning by 30 seconds or more. Heck most of the time the passes at the front of the pack are made through pit strategy alone and the passes in the middle of the pack through DRS, etc which leaves the car in front a sitting duck on any reasonable length straight. Besides, which is easier to drive a lightweight car with every aero trick in the world, clutchless gearboxes, etc or a 3500lb vehicle on 10 inch tires with not nearly the mechanical grip of a F1 car. Besides, how many of the F1 racers have really been successful in NASCAR (since Mario Andretti).
