Ahrends retro banana grips for the Model 66-2 arrived today and I'm pretty pleased with them. Overall shape and width is a little reminiscent of my Hogue JM grips, just in a much more compact size. The bottom of the panels are beveled to aid with concealment. The 66 came with an original set of magnas, box, and paperwork, but it's missing the the tool kit.

Ha...thanks Darren. I'm a sucker for the stainless guns and I'm thrilled to finally have a snubby K frame in the collection.

Smells like nasty burning hair... Should make for a fabulous set of grips; I'd sure like to see how they turn out! I have some musk ox horn that I've considered for a set of 1911 grips, just don't have a pistol to do them justice!

I really prefer that wider smooth trigger to the narrow grooved one in my 66-1. The nice sharp screw heads are also a refreshing sight.

I like both the grooved .265 and the .312 smooth. I may actually end up dropping in a .265 combat trigger and finding a matching factory DAO hammer (or a spare to bob) for the gun. The screw heads were actually a little buggered up when I received it, but it was an easy fix with a cordless drill, file, and 2000 grit sandpaper. You just gotta be careful to keep the correct contour on the domed screw heads. I was most proud of the rear flat sideplate screw since I was able to reproduce machining marks that matched the screw's original appearance. All in all, it was only 10-15 minutes of work that saved me $25 on a new set of screws.
