Slots at an angle and as you go down the slots get larger...HHHMMM a vibrating sander on the side of a homemade multi slotted ramp....It could work..

Is there a reason you are only sorting out rimfires? Otherwise I would look at getting these http://www.midwayusa.com/product/847836/shell-sorter-brass-sorter-9mm-luger-40-smith-and-wesson-45-acp-3-bowl-set. A couple years ago I had 3+ drums to go through and I will tell you those made life so much easier it's not even funny. I would also suggest using hearing protection in addition to Clay's suggestion on gloves.
