Anyone try to convert a rock island GI to use .45 super if so any advise?

Has any one tried to convert or just run .45 supers thru a rock island 1911 gi , if so any advise?

Just playing with the idea, don't really know to much about the rock island i just acquired it about a month ago

I know RIA owners have a love/hate relationship with their opinions of RIA 1911's, but as the slide/frames are usually the worrisome parts of .45S, would you risk it?

well seeing as how its my only handgun i have at this point, probilly shouldn't on that basis alone, maybe its not worth the gain of velocity, appreciate you putting it into a better perspective. thanks
