True dat. But, 16,898 votes was all it took for AOC to win the Democratic primary against a ten-term incumbent. Crowley and his cadre of incompetents must have thought they had #11 in the bag. If they had marshalled votes in old Boss Tweed's legendary style, Cortez would have never even been heard of today.
She might as well be according to the dimocrat party. She is currently running it.

I find it an interesting conundrum for pelosi. In the past her word was gospel. Get out of line, get a call to her office and you will get in line or suffer loss of committee memberships where your mug can be on camera for re-election down the road. She could basically guarantee your demise in the House or your re-election if you bowed to her leadership.
These new young whippersnappers say poo-poo to that notion and are striking out on their own, getting support from other dims that are tired of Nancy and her old guard regime.
This 2020 election is going to be fantastic to watch especially since Nancy acquiesced to limiting herself to two years as the Speaker to the newcomers.
