Need some help from the motorcycle guys:

I am looking at putting some 16" ape hangers on my Road King Classic this winter. I am around 6' 1" and currently have the Road King Touring bars. They feel a little short for me and also angle my wrists in to where they start hurting on "long" rides.

If you have them, what brand and how tall? Do you have any issues on long rides with your hands going to sleep?

Thanks for any and all info!!

I'm a short guy 5'7" but I've recently owned a rigid sportster and a rigid triumph bonneville. They sat rea low in the back end and had 12 inch apes. For me and sitting on that low seat, it put my hands just above my sholders like wrist at top of shoulders and was really comfortable. I'd sit on the bike, put my hands and that height and see what length apes take you from the top of your trees to that height. That was a great comfortable spot to lean back and relax on a ride.

I shouldn't post in this thread. I shouldn't post in this thread. I shouldn't post in this thread.

Ape hangers are the most ridiculous thing that could be installed on a motorcycle.

I love mine....

That's cool. Motorcycle are a very personal thing so riders tend to gravitate toward a particular style. I've always been interested in European bikes with an aggressive riding position. American (and American-styled) bikes have somehow arrived at putting a La-Z-Boy on 2 wheels.

I seriously don't know HOW you guys can ride with those forward controls. That is the most bizarre feeling!
