Thank You President Trump!
Apple is giving its employees $2,500 bonuses in restricted stock units following the passing of new US tax law, according to a report from Bloomberg.

The stock will be granted to most employees worldwide in the coming months, according to the report. It cites unnamed sources within Apple, who claim that Apple employees below a senior level title of “director” will be eligible for the bonuses.

9to5Mac obtained the letter sent to employees announcing the bonus, which says that the company is investing in its most important resource: it’s people.

Apple announced earlier today that it would be bringing most of its cash back to the US from overseas (and paying $38 billion in taxes in the process), a move that would seem to be predicated by the recent overhaul of the corporate tax rate in the US.

Apple isn’t the only company to issue bonuses to celebrate the lower tax rates: AT&T and Comcast have also previously announced plans for similar bonuses as well.

Here is a little Dejavu from 2016 from Paul Krugman. World renowned economist that happens to be rabid liberal.
Paul Krugman: The Economic Fallout

It really does now look like President Donald J. Trump, and markets are plunging. When might we expect them to recover?

Frankly, I find it hard to care much, even though this is my specialty. The disaster for America and the world has so many aspects that the economic ramifications are way down my list of things to fear.

Still, I guess people want an answer: If the question is when markets will recover, a first-pass answer is never.

Under any circumstances, putting an irresponsible, ignorant man who takes his advice from all the wrong people in charge of the nation with the world’s most important economy would be very bad news. What makes it especially bad right now, however, is the fundamentally fragile state much of the world is still in, eight years after the great financial crisis.

It’s true that we’ve been adding jobs at a pretty good pace and are quite close to full employment. But we’ve been doing O.K. only thanks to extremely low interest rates. There’s nothing wrong with that per se. But what if something bad happens and the economy needs a boost? The Fed and its counterparts abroad basically have very little room for further rate cuts, and therefore very little ability to respond to adverse events.

Now comes the mother of all adverse effects — and what it brings with it is a regime that will be ignorant of economic policy and hostile to any effort to make it work. Effective fiscal support for the Fed? Not a chance. In fact, you can bet that the Fed will lose its independence, and be bullied by cranks.

So we are very probably looking at a global recession, with no end in sight. I suppose we could get lucky somehow. But on economics, as on everything else, a terrible thing has just happened.

Apple also announced that because of the Trump Tax cuts, it will spend 30 billion dollars over 5 years creating 20,000 new jobs in call centers and other places in the US.

Meanwhile Upchuck shummer and pelosi continue to say that tax cuts don't work. OOOOOOK! Well surprise, they do, and are.
We need our resident liberal economist to comment on why this option of a tax cut will hurt the economy.

I dont understand how people dont get........ when fat corporations are making money, they put more money into the economy, exand their businesses, creating more jobs. Which people have more money to spend and pay taxes

When corporations are paying higher taxes, they hoard their cash and cut jobs

Fool! Don't you understand that taking the money from the rich and giving it to the poor and downtrodden is the way to make this country great again? Jezbus, some people just don't get it. :cry11:

I think quite a few people understand it. I just hope there's enough of us. I sure think there's more of us that get it than we hear about. I'm pretty sure that's how Trump got the surprise win. Cuz we don't live on the streets shouting and carrying on and we don't do many polls. We show up when a job needs done instead of just flapping our gums. (This is my opinion and such n stuff)

Trump won it by using the Electoral college system and actually working for the office, sometimes making three states in a day.
The evil witch took a month or so off on occasion with almost zero participation at her rallies while Trump filled stadiums.
She might have made a state a week at best. Her supporters and the media had her coronation into the office pre-planned, even going so far as to take over the finances of the DNC and set up the commie bernie to fail in the primaries.
That is how Trump won spending 1/10 of the money hillary did with a small staff. And the media questions his ability to hold office? LOL.

It's less that they question his ability to hold office, and more that they're infuriated he does indeed hold the office. :D
