Does anyone know the thread size for an AR-10 (308) barrel extension? I searched the internet and found 1 site that showed the size as 5/8 (.6250) x 24. That seems kinda small for a 308 barrel. The Brownell's catalog shows a AR-15 barrel extension as 13/16 (.8125) x 16.
I believe you will find that the 5/8x24 is the flash hider thread size.

I have never measured one, but most 308 rifles are in that general area.
