AR front sight question

I have a flat top upper with a non -f mark front sight post. The post is screwed out way too high and is out of adjustment to bring it down more. Does anyone make a taller post to remedy this issue or do I need to replace the front sight assembly.

What kind of rear sight are you using? are you sure you've got the correct height?

Magpul mbus. There's about a .200" difference in height between the F-marked sight base and non F-mark ( A2 ). It's my understanding that most, if not all, of the current back up sights are designed to work with the later F-mark sight block.

There is a taller front post available, just can't remember who makes it. The problem is that it comes out as tall as the ears and isn't as well protected. The best thing to do is replace the base with the proper "F" marked base.

Bushmaster used to make a .040" taller front site post.

Found one, DPMS makes one that is .030" taller for this exact issue. Thanks for the help

Next time I will know better when purchasing
