Personally, I think those that want to do their "auditing," whether it be for 1A or 2A reasons or any other, are just maybe a step or a half-step below the "sovereign citizens." In almost every case, they seem to be trying to provoke encounters with authority, mostly to get themselves "known" on YouTube.

A wrong encounter could put them in a grave where there is no YouTube to watch.

I disagree. Of all the 1st and 4th Amendment audits I see on the Tube none are sovereign citizens or even want to be compared to sovereign citizens. IMHO the auditors are trying to exercise their constitutional rights while educating LEO's. If you watch some of the videos you would be amazed on how many LEO's try to circumvent a person's civil rights because they are doing something that they personally do not like or approve. Let's face it.....videos have brought out the best and worst in people. A lot of LEO's have gotten reprimanded, demoted and fired because of their confrontations with civilians where they were caught abusing a person's civil rights on video. I advocate a person's right for exercising their civil rights even if I don't personally agree with it. You would be amazed at the number of LEO's that find a person exercising their civil rights as "uncooperative" or "unreasonable" because they are not getting their way with unlawful commands. There are literally thousands of videos on the Tube so these are not uncommon reactions with LEO's. The Edmond encounter was a stupid way of exercising the 2nd Amendment right and frankly any group that would approve of this method does not have my support.

Thanks, I went back and looked it up. It has changed a lot from what I remember. There were more specific items that defined “pistol” when the law first came out.

Thanks OK2A for making all gun owners look bad.

Oh, and the comment you made several times about the Tulsa PD not taking "a man with rifle in park" as seriously, but more of a casual affair now because you've done it so much, not smart.
What if an actual shooter situation happens? Tulsa PD will get the call and they'll think, oh, that's just that dumbass with OK2A again. No need to hurry.

Agreed. Much like “the little boy who cried Wolf”.

I am 62 and in this day of mass shootings for fame it is stupid to do something like this in a park, mall, etc, etc. Walking down the road to a place to shoot or hunt is one thing, being dumbass enough to do it in a park is a whole other story, and yes I grew up in the country with guns, rifle rack in my back window, etc.
At what pont does my post defend this guys action?
No where.

I see people showing or open carrying, I don't get too concerned regardless of where it is. If I see a guy with a long gun in a park or walking down main city street its a different story. Same as if you decided you wanted to carry a butcher knife around. I don't care if its a black gun or shot gun a 10/22 or whatever. Ask yourself this, if you see a guy caring a pistol in his hand, in a park or down the street do you just think nothing of it? Wouldn't that concern you? The people these auditors are upsetting (general public) don't realize a black gun is 60 year old technology even though the media makes it out to be the latest greatest weapon of mass destruction.

So they are doing a couple things. First they are saying they are carrying a pistol. Why the hell isn't your pistol holstered sir? That is what you would say to a guy walking around with a couple pistols in his hands. Then on top of that they chose the weapon that the media uses to freak out everyone and on top of that they know the weapon of choice can easily be misidentified by anyone until they are way to close for comfort. For me they are creating a pointless no win situation for these LEOs they are trying to educate and in process are endangering a lot of people for no reason. If I am in public and see anyone unholster their concealed or open carry weapon I am thinking WTF dude their is no threat other than you, put that away. These guys are breaking common sense protocol imo.

The news is saying the guy was pointing the gun at people. If that is true pepper bags was getting off easy imo. If he pointed it at anyone he should be hammered.
