If you are referring to the navigational channel, I think it would be nuts to be in a kayak with all the barge traffic on that river.

When I was in the US Army, serving in Germany, we took rubber assault rafts to the Rhine River and went downriver from Wiesbaden to around Lorch, IIRC. Talk about some barge and cruise traffic....

It may be a little far, but the buffalo national river in central Arkansas is awesome. Lake Tanneycomo in Mo is really a river, but it's full of trout, bass on the upper end, and further south there are cats. The white river below beaver lake is another good spot.

Later in the spring when we get rain, the Arkansas river below Kaw to keystone will be fine for a kayak

As everyone above has mentioned, the only way to kayak along this section of the river is if you get someone with a jeep to tie your kayak on the top.

A tiny bit closer and just as clean - the James River just north of Table Rock. There are plenty of places to put in around Galena and further north and plenty of services to shuttle you back to your car.

Unfortunately that a little far. Need to keep it within oklahoma due to time constraints. Maybe we should go to a lake in Oklahoma that has some land along it that is only accessible by boat or kayak.

Several people have kayaked the Navigational Channel. You might be able to get some more info from yahoo groups FlatWaterPaddlers. Or Facebook OKC Kayaks or North East Oklahoma Kayak Anglers.
Good Luck.
