It may be a little far, but the buffalo national river in central Arkansas is awesome. Lake Tanneycomo in Mo is really a river, but it's full of trout, bass on the upper end, and further south there are cats. The white river below beaver lake is another good spot.
Later in the spring when we get rain, the Arkansas river below Kaw to keystone will be fine for a kayak
