I think they are throwing a bone to gun owners by allowing those that already have the enumerated banned items to legally keep them.

The "kicker" is to make any transfer of said items illegal, so a parent would not be allowed to pass down, thereby "transferring" those items to a child or grandchild. After a few years there would no longer be anyone who was alive at the time of the ban and therefor nobody who could legally own any of said items under the "grandfather" clause.

Which is where the living trust would come in, correct? If it's owned by the trust then there's no passing down or transferring involved, it continues to be property of the trust, regardless of change in trustees...

So just how in the sam hell does one transfer untitled property or items not governmentally registered in some fashion into a trust? I'm just thinking that scheduling general personal items isn't going to work. And if something like this passes, I'd be shocked if the "trust architecture" is "overlooked" by legislators. ATF already hates them and has for a long time.

Well to put it simply list it in the trust documentation. A trust can not be started with nothing if what I have read is correct, so often times a single dollar will be the basis for a trust. Then other things are added in to it as time goes on. If you want to get really fancy and already have one trust use the paperwork and verbatim start another trust with all the magazines in it. Get a label maker and put a label inside the base plates or on the outside somewhere showing ownership by the trust name and a number. As long as the name an number correspond with the paperwork it is owned by the trust.

The lawmakers are so wrapped up in their bans for "private" ownership they don't even consider trusts and corporations. If you had enough money to fund it an LLC may be the best way to go. Even the ATF will allow an LLC to buy and possess new full auto weapons. The kicker on that is that it needs to be owned for "demonstration purposes" for a law enforcement agency. With enough money you can own and do tons of things it just takes reading the laws and finding the loopholes. Why do you think that people with a ton of money pay a CPA a ton of money to save on taxes. The rest of the government is no different, you just have to find the loophole and figure out how to be able to exploit it.

It is a Senate bill, so only senators sign to support it. Pelosi is a representative, not a senator.

Land trusts expire and then it becomes a nightmare with the convoluted extended family all claiming part of the trust when it expires.
. Native Americans are going through this now. There is a fix from .Gov but it’s under lawsuit?

Any bill (whether it originates in the house or senate) has to be voted on by both and then be signed by the president before it becomes a law. I am sure that if this made it through the Senate and was then sent to the house that Nancy would be all over it.
