So, there ya have it. The people in the states that have the most strict gun laws were elected by the people of the state.
Commiefornika, NY or Il will never see more gun rights, they will only be taken away more and more.
Indeed. Gun rights advocates simply don't have the numbers in those states. In a few years, we may be facing the same (or similar) statutes here in Oklahoma. We've already had one governor veto Constitutional Carry.

The 2A is a cornerstone of this great nation... but only as long as the nation's government enforces (or at least tolerates) it.

"Right" doesn't necessarily mean "might" anymore. :/

Fallon vetoed it because of a lobby group that had her ear because she didn't know squat about firearms.
Part of that lobby group runs a firearm defensive school and was thought to be "expert" on guns when in fact they wanted to have every gun owner run through their training program as a financial goal.
These lobbyist can have a major influence on our laws, not only gun laws that can turn a politician against its electorate.

As I understand it, Oklahoma can pass all the laws it wants, but can't usurp federal law? Then we have the concept of states rights, so I'm not sure how we as a state can become an autonomous nation outside of the constitution?
Comminfornika, NY and Il have all taken away 2A rights with no repercussion from the feds. The middle part of this country is a bastion of gun rights while the left coasts have denied their citizens the same rights because the voters elected the people that took those rights away.

So, probably just talking out my butt here, but what if we compare marijuana to guns... Federally it's illegal but many states have decriminalized marijuana regardless. Why couldn't OK say they are decriminalizing NFA items and treat it like marijuana? It's illegal to transport marijuana across state lines, but within the states where recreational use has been legalized (decriminalized) you can grow it, possess it, use it, etc... without repercussions from the state. What if OK said any suppressors made in OK can be used in OK? What if OK said any firearms manufactured in OK can be sold in OK without federal involvement? Instead of constantly having to defend our constitutional rights to keep them from being continually marginalized and diminished, how about we expand them (from where they currently stand) instead?

I know laws like that will never pass, but I just don't get why so many are eager to accept and embrace these "forward thinking" and "progressive" ideas that to a point expand your rights, but in the same breath want to restrict other rights. The extreme of that being the left saying we need to expand the rights of illegal aliens and that we also need to restrict the rights of citizens - that should be viewed as treason.

Apples to oranges. In fact not even that close. Currently the Feds are not interested in pursuing marijuana issues. If they wanted, and they have done so recently, they will storm trooper in and people will be prosecuted. That is if they wanted to do this. They don't want to do this because of the backlash. Eventually it marijuana will come off the DEA's list.

NFA Firearms, whole new story. Let any state try to screw with the ATF and it's regulations and you will see people going to jail. Do you want to make a wager on that one?

I have absolutely no doubt that if a state passed laws like I mentioned that the ATF would swarm and there would be lots of arrests and jail time. I understand how it's apples to oranges, but in my mind it shouldn't be. It was probably a really bad example, and I wish I could come up with a better one, I would just like to see something pass that enhanced the 2A rather than always having to defend it...

Other states like Montana I think it was without searching came up with state laws saying as long as a gun was manufactured in Montana and only sold in Montana the feds could pound sand. I think Montana had to back off from that in the end.
