I feel like there are some important details left out!
Which finger?
Press brand/model?
The answers to those questions will help determine the amount of sympathy I can give on this matter.

I will be struck by lightning for saying this.
MEC reloading equipment used to make a press for loading shotgun shells called the MEC Grabber.

I wonder if that was the type of press involved???

Seriously though, that $--t looks painful. I hope the OP heals up all right.

It was a RCBS single stage press, got my left index finger (also known as my trigger finger!)...actuall didn't say much that I recall, I put the offending press back down, shoved the stuff I had already loaded on the tailgate into bed and closed the tailgate, locked the door of the building then jumped in my truck and wrapped it in fast food napkins while I drove myself to ER (less than a mile away)...nurse told me I did good by letting the ram back down before pulling my finger out, she said 80% of people jerk the finger out and end up doing more damage...

Surgery went well yesterday I guess, have follow up in Altus next Monday, hope its recovery time after that!

You never know how much you use a finger until you put one out of commission.
I have mashed a few and tore fingernails and toenails off with pliers.

But looks like you mashed that one in 1/2 made a flip top out of it.
I did cut my thumb in half 1/2" from the end sharpening a knife when I was about 15.
It opened up like a PEZ candy dispenser. Cut right through the middle of my thumb nail.
I knew my parents would not do anything so I let it bleed a lot to clean it out and I held it over a burning candle while I had it pinched shut.
Burn the skin and blood and then wrapped it for 3 days and all was good.

But you made hamburger out of yours and looked to be missing some parts.
Even I would go to the hospital on that one.
Superglue/tape and fire go just so far.

Get well soon.
Again OUCH!
