Bersa Thunder any good?

sorry if this has been beat to death elsewhere and I didn't find it.

question: is the Bersa .380 a p.o.s. or OK? I like the price, $280 at Academy.

.380 ammo seems to not be so rare anymore, and it's small enough for carry but not too small for wide hands..

I've owned a Bersa Thunder for a year now and I've never had an issue with it. In fact I carry it every now and then as my CCW and I trust my life with it.

thanks... it sure seemed OK in the store - of course I haven't fired it yet.. I like the LCP too as it is so small, for the realities of carry... but that Bersa should fit in a pocket, esp my motorcycle jacket or such too. I think it'll be a good fit for me.

I also own 2 LCP's. They are fine pocket guns. The Bersa was surprisingly acurate the first time I fired it. Make sure that you get the one with dovetail sights tho.

Got rid of mine last summer when the ammo got scarce...loved it tho.

I've had a Bersa for about 10 years... Not one problem. I carry it as a back up.

pretty nice shooter for a small framed .380 biggest problem i've found is ammo availability

One in the classifieds for $250. FInding defensive ammo isnt a problem, its the cheap stuff thats hard to find. Saw some 100rd wwb on gunbroker for "the fair and reasonable price" of 70 dollars LOL. that stuff is 31.37 at WW when they have it.

These are very positive responses. My question is, why doesn't this gun come up more often in the discussion of the .380 pocket guns? We mostly hear about Kahr, K-tec and LCP. How does it compare to those?
