200 grain lead SWC; close to H&G #68 if possible. If I could only have 1 bullet for all 45acp use, that would be it.
If you want the best feeding reliability for a variety of 45 auto pistols, then 230gr lead round nose is probably the safer choice.

With lead availability being a current and future issue, I'd try to make the 200gr LSWC work for 45acp.
That would be 30gr less lead per bullet plus I strongly prefer the SWC shape for all-round use.
Cast it softer for the most accurate target loads (at target velocities). Cast it hard for max velocity loads including defense use if you lack good JHPs.

I have used the Lyman 452460 200 gr. swc for years with good success, The 230 gr. round nose Lee tumble lube bullet seems to shoot the best of any of the round nose designs for me.
