My vote would be the galil simply for the aftermarket support being a little better.

Did not read the whole thread but has anybody suggested a Mini-14 (now that you can get factory mags)?
Not sexy though unless you're a real fan of the A Team.

I had two of those over the years. Both were GB Folders. One Blue and one Stainless. Their biggest flaw was their proprietary magazines.

Two more rifles I wish I still had.

I had a Robinson XCR for a while. Very reliable. Not a tack driver but good enough. Another one of those that got away during a period of unemployment.
I also had the 7.62x39 conversion, that worked well too.
