Hey All,

I'm trying to narrow my search down, so that I don't have to go to excessive stores!!!!

Does anyone know where I can buy a tray/ground bird feeder in the North OKC/Edmond area?? Yes, I'm going to call Wild Birds Unlimited, but if they don't, who else might?? Yes, I'm going to Pet Smart and Wal-Mart this weekend up on North Penn & Memorial. I just don't recall seeing any when I go there.

Any feed stores in North OKC/Edmond? I don't want to drive all the way down to Chandler/Shawnee area.

I may have to build a couple, the dove and other birds are knocking on my back door and telling me I can't keep up with the food demand in those little hanging feeders!!!!!

What I need and looking for...

The problem with building your own (I've done it) is finding something to use for the bottom. Screen is too flimsy and stamped stuff from hardware stores is way too expensive. By the time you get everything you'd need and and include the time it takes to build something that will last through the winter you're way better off just buying a quality feeder.

Lowe's used to carry a National Geographic tray feeder that was pretty good but I don't know if they still do. I bought the hanging version of that tray feeder and it has lasted about 10 years.

Wild Birds Unlimited is expensive. The best values I've found are online. I have a couple of Audubon wooden ground feeders that have lasted about 5 years and they're close to the end of their life span. They cost around $30 each. The next ones I buy will be made out of recycled plastic.

My experience is that a decent tray feeder bought online is going to cost in the neighborhood of $40 to $60.

Another option for something local might be a garden center or feed store.

I like the one you have in your post. But I would add 2 more screws per leg. Where did you find it?
