Spent the afternoon power washing the husk off the walnuts I gathered up last week. It's a dirty job so I don my rain suit and rubber boots and rubber gloves. It takes one of the feed tubs full to fill a 5 gallon after washing. I'll get about a quarter of meat from the 5 gallon bucket.

I can quadruple the amount of walnuts you're showing under one tree and we have dozens.

Love them for shade trees, but this year has been a record for them dropping on the yard.
The squirrels are getting so fat they can't climb trees.
I had one in my yard and I cut it down years ago. It was leaning towards the house. It was a job picking up the nuts every year to keep from hitting them with the mower.

I took out a $400 Anderson Window a few years ago after hitting one of the hundreds with the mower.
Now I mow away from the house.
