Making a movie is a good way to screw a good book up. Seems they always change them up to be really bad.

In the past, this was often true... however, with today's technology and the backing in the sci-fi/fantasy genre, I think they can do really, really well. But ONLY if they go all-out on some of 'em. I remember being blown away and imminently happy with the LotR trilogy. They have changed The Hobbit quite a bit, but nothing terrible right now.

And they're remaking The Stand, 3hrs long and R rated.
