Considering that the site was just created March 1, is only registered for one year, is registered privately, and renders like crap in a modern browser, and I can't tell who the payment is going to, I'd say it looks shady.

I agree, if they were wanting donations for legal defense they would have started asking when the lawsuit was filed, the plaintiff is the brother of the deceased (the suit in question is a wrongful death suit), and armslist would be asking on their site as a subdomain or on their servers plus they wouldn't do it with a private registration. IMHO this is a scam to get donations for the suit and will never make it there.

E-mail addresses can EASILY be spoofed so that it looks like one person is sending it yet someone totally different is doing the actual sending.

It happens all the time and you have to be smart enough to catch the bull.
