WILSONS MILLS, N.C. — Three men came across a patrol car that had crashed into a ditch and caught fire and pulled the officer out to safety Sunday.

The entire incident was caught on cell phone camera by another bystander, Kathy Hoffman, according to WRAL.

Officer Ashley McLamb was pulled to safety by Terry Joyner, his son, and a third man, after they managed to pry the door open.

McLamb suffered no serious injuries and was recovering at home Monday, according to the report.

Police haven't determined what caused the accident.

Was not as dramatic as thread title indicated but good on them for getting him out of there.

Typically after people pull someone from a "burning car" they don't get back into it repeatedly for laptops and other trinkets. Where there is smoke there is fire but calling this a burning car rescue is a stretch.
