Just called Senator Coburn's DC office (202-224-5754) and there was no wait time.

Told the staffer that I opposed the Senator's efforts to expand background checks for firearms purchases. It won't stop disturbed people from getting guns they will just steal them. It will erode the Second Amendment.

The staffer was polite and professional and friendly but I heard a subtle undertone of dislike in her voice.

Coburn's office needs to hear from citizen's - give him a call it's simple.

And you know this how? And not calling him or saying anything is the better option how? Why don't you just get it over with and go turn in your guns now?

You're asking/stating two different things...

Before his first election, he campaign vigorously in a rouse of "I will only serve for two terms, as term limits will be my focus." Though he never mentioned two terms being required for retirement. Thus, he campaigned on a federal retirement plan.

As he will not seek reelection, he will play the political game, being all mavericky and going against the grain. He believes in the second amendment, but he also believes in political folly... RINO he will become as he's on his way out.

And I'm never giving up my guns. Ever

You still haven't stated how you know, and giving up on contacting elected officials is equivalent to giving up. I don't care who the representative is, we should be contacting them.
