Does anyone know about hunting on the Canadian river between OKC and Newcastle? I've been seeing a lot of birds lately, but wasn't sure if anyone could just park and walk down and start hunting or what?? I know I see people riding 4wheelers, etc a lot down there so wasn't sure who owned what. I looked on the wildlife dept website, but couldn't find any info. Anyone ever hunted there or know what's legal??
Thanks

This topic comes up every year. To hunt the river you will need landowner permission. The actual law says something about the water is public, but the banks and the bottom of the river are private. Good luck getting a game warden on your side when there is an angry landowner involved saying you are trespassing.

Best bet......Start knocking on doors and ask for permission. Its not as scary as most people think.
