My car gets 30-35 mpg and I live less than a gallon round trip to Canadian ranges and quit going after Harry retired.
I went 1 time after and did not like it.

I have since been driving to Lexington WMA shooting range to "test loads"
It is about 62 miles one way and that is still cheaper than paying for range time.
I have driven my 15 mpg vehicle there a few times and it does not hurt my feelings.

I have a lifetime hunt/fish license so no cost on a hunting license.
You do need a hunting license to shoot at the WMA ranges.
wow. It's 54 miles from Bethany. I didn't realize how far it was.

I ended up getting a membership to Fouled Bore Precision out south of Chickasha. It's a 75 mile drive from Edmond, but range goes out to 1 mile with lots of targets at various distances to shoot. They also have some courses that as a member you can utilize and a pistol/carbine/shotgun range. Not sure with my current setups if I'll reach a mile until I can start hand loading, but getting out past 1000 is an achievable goal, just not there yet. Been going solo, so no spotter to help with adjustments.
Open to the public 4 days a week with limited access. Open to members 7 days a week with full access to everything. They host pretty big matches out there too.

It's been a few years since I've been out there. Do they still only have the 2 shooting platforms and 1 bench on the range that is by the office? It was always luck of the draw when I would go out there whether or not a bench was available, but it was really great to be able to shoot out to a distance.

Same setup. I have only been earlier morning middle of the week with only the cows and deer roaming around. Has to be some easy hunting out there because the bucks and does don’t even flinch when you ring a target not ten yards from them.

OKC Gun Club in Arcadia has outdoor ranges (except air rifle matches) for all shooting disciplines, and is one heck of a deal for those who enjoy shooting on a routine basis. Now is the time to submit an application for membership.
OKCGC also has outdoor air gun matches, 25 and 50 yard bench rest, field target, extreme field target and metallic silhouette to 500 meters

Can you tell me a little more about the Lexington Range, does it have a 100 yard for rifle? I hope...
