Good looking cats are hard and you pay for it.

I’ve shot one with a 308 and 165 grain Corelokt several years ago, and it didn’t tear the hide up too bad.
The last I heard the going rate for a bobcat around here is around a grand.

Are you talking prices by a fur buyer or finished taxidermy?
I had one mounted by a guy in Stillwater years ago that lives West of town. He did a heck of a job and has gone on to win international competitions with his mounts.
Had another cat in the freezer that I gave a friend that was starting to do taxidermy.
He saved the skull and did a European on it. When he got done, he heard something rattling inside the skull.
Turned out to be the .22 short slug it was dispatched with that I've saved in the brain cavity.

I think this was $450 about 10-12 years ago. Taxidermist in Mustang, can't remember name off hand. He was behind the pawn shop at main intersection. Taken at 170 yds with 30.06 Federal Premium 165gr Sierra BT. Shot square head on, impact below neck with no exit. Bullet found intact, slightly mushroomed at the rumpus. He was about to disappear into a creek coming to cheap ($40) Johnny Stewart call. Had to preset volume as remote would only change to 4 sounds by design. Call was on a wooden corner post about 50yds away. Shot quite a few cats with that cheap call. More than the Fox Pro. Pitch must be right for the cats. It's not real loud so we would always blow long range mouth call for 15-30 seconds at start of set. That technique worked pretty good on the dogs too. If going after cats only now, I would pick that JS over the FP.

Who’s had a good one done and what did it run? I have a bobcat running around on our land and I’m gonna plan to take her this season, she’s been there for a while (2-4 years) now and I feel she’s run her course.

I wish I picked a better position. This one weighed in at 34lbs and cost $500 around 10-12yrs ago.

Eyes crossed, mouth that looks like it's smiling, ears not positioned correctly. Just the face and head in general
