Channel cats are about to POP.

The channel catfish fish I cleaned yesterday had huge eggs in most of them and a couple with a wee bit smaller eggs.
I filleted one cat and it's belly was so fat the eggs popped out after a fillet came off.
I do not skin my catfish with pliers I fillet and then flip and fillet the skin off.

Caught them at Thunderbird in 9-12 foot of water.
Shad gizzards and fillet of shad.

You can get those shad right off the bank near the twin bridges.
I would bet a bank fisherman could catch them and many other kinds of fish there fishing off the rocks between the 2 bridges or under them .

I did get catfish, sand bass, crappie, bass, drum and sunfish in my cast net along the bank near the bridges yesterday.

Last 2 times I went to the lake kids were noodling.
There were 4 kids in a small john boat this trip and they had 1 channel cat they got.
One boy probably 12 and skinny as a stick was the first to go under in search of cats under the rocks.
I checked some holes last week around the bridges and they were empty.
Late in the day though 5PM or so.

That's crazy mine were like that 3 weeks ago, disappeared and now are back hungry and beat up looking

Met some guys years ago mid 90s did just that, east of east bridge. fathers day. I stopped by to visit 4 or 5 years. Then they didnt show any more. Cane poles shrimp worms and 2 buckets.
