Good looking flies and trout Mr. Hoddy.

I bet we have fished some of the same waters.

Do you or have you fished the Lower Illinois River before?
Yes, a couple of times. It’s only a two hour drive or so. I should hit it more often, but when heading that direction, Tanneycomo keeps calling my name.

Fly if the day - Stonefly!

Hopefully when the water levels drop back down and the water clears up, I can get a chance to put one of these flies in front of a big ole hungry carp.

Bethany pulled up a couple of pictures on line of a fly she wanted in different colors, and asked me to tie a couple of each color for our next bass fishing trip.

These are tied on a stainless Gamakatsu hook.

This material looks much better once it's wet, and has excellent swimming action!

Overall length is 2 3/4"

My favorite color is the second from the top.

I don't know is we can pull it off or not, but Bethany wants to try for a 60 bass / day next time we go to our little bass lake - fly rod only!

With a good overcast day and light sprinkles or showers throughout the day, I believe we can have better than a 60 bass day. Only time will tell...
