Cherokee Ballard resigns from State Medical Examiner's Office?

One of my co-workers told me that Cberokee Ballard resigned. Is this true? I haven't heard the radio news yet. Is it because of her testimony or being a witness to the Terrill/Leftwich bribery case? Any specation? Just wanting a different job?

OK - I'll ask: Cherokee Ballard - the same one that was on the local evening news? Anyone in that job should have known that an ME's office that needs a PIO is not in good shape in the first place. Reports indicate that she departed for the private sector. She also recently testified in court on what appears to be another ME based scandal trial. Sheesh...

I think she had health issues - maybe breast cancer??? She spoke at an assembly at our local schools a few years back - our community is mostly Native and she was a hit because a lot of the kids & parents had seen Cherokee and her mom shopping at the local Wal-Mart earlier.
