I certainly support our and everyone's right to carry and be armed and own firearms. But I think other socioeconomic factors have a much larger influence on the aggregate crime figures than firearms laws.
But if you look at an individual scenario and one's chance of being victim of that crime scenario... say look at me specifically, for example.... I have a much higher risk of being a victim of a successful attempt in CA where I am unarmed (cannot carry when I travel to LA), versus when I am in and around OK (and armed all the time). I am not talking the chance that I am attacked, but rather the chance the attack is successful. I much like to believe I am better off armed.
