Probably the oldest way to compromise any man in power is to "hook him up", then leverage that relationship for money, influence or intelligence.

Set up, knocked down and thrown under the bus. Bet that he'd tell the whole truth if successfully subopenaed to testify on the Benghazi killings.

Hope at least they set him up with a hottie and ensured he compromised himself over and over, in as many way as possible. Might as well get it while the getting is good....

...close. The oldest way to compromise any man in power is to put him in a position of power. That power will put temptations in front of him. Many, if not most, will eat the marshmallow and compromise themselves.

Conspiracies are fun, but the simplest explanation is most often the correct one.

So in the last couple weeks we have lost not one but two 4 star Generals? Both of them directly related to the Benghazi attack.

I dont think Petreaus was a "great mind". I understand the politics of becomming a General. He did what Generals are taught to do. And he did a good job.

I think the CIA had alot to do with this Benghazi mess. I think as head of CIA he prolly bears most responsibility. It happened on his watch.

I dunno why he cheated on his wife, knowbody does. What we know is, he got caught. Now suffer the consequences.

looking like the normal churn when administration goes into 2nd term.
i would not be surprised to see leon panetta replaced in some manner before too long either.
neither would i be surprised to see hillary leave sec of state position either.

nothing to see here, move on.

The affair was with his biographer Paula Broadwell. Supposedly, she may have had access to some classified information. From what I've heard, neither the White House nor Congress expected or wanted him to resign. Petraeus, however, felt like he let the president, the CIA, his family, and the country down. At least he has enough honor (after getting caught) to step down. It has nothing to do with Libya or any other strategic engagement--just one man's personal failings.

would you use the word "honor" to describe Tiger woods getting caught? Petreus deserves NO sympathy of any kind. He made his bed, got caught and could have comprimised our nation. Theres no "honor".
