I have been thinking of getting into reloading as a second job for some extra cash.....is there anyone out there that has experience with getting licensed fir this? And.....is it financially worth it? Interested in hearing all pros and cons. I already have most of the equipment (I think..) but just am not sure if its viable?

One other thing you need to think about if you become a type 6 FFL is liability insurance. If some ammo that you manufactured ends up damaging someones gun or it injures/kills them, you will be sued.

you would have to have automated equipment to make any money. the insurance would kill you otherwise.

maybe you should consider giving reloading classes a couple saturdays a month.
people will pay to learn proper techniques with hands on instruction.

From what I have read on the internet so far you are probably right...just was hoping someone has tried for this in the past, or is presently a licensed class 6 FFL that could give some real-world cost-analysis on this....

I had an ammo manufacturing license a long time ago. It wasn't worth the record keeping and "friends" trying to get free ammo. I had contractor with some small depts. that used purchase orders and that was slow pay. even at that time insurance was expensive. If I totaled up all my time I doubt that I made .50 cents an hour. Unless you go really big you aren't going to make much money. would not do it again unless it was a service with an existing gun store or range.
