Up for sale is a rare USMC marked Colt 1911 Rail gun in Desert Tan. These were the same 1911s that Colt delivered to the USMC. However, these were turned out of the Colt Custom Shop in very limited numbers originally marked USMC just like the deployed models. However, Colt received a cease and desist from the Marines shortly into the run of pistols and had to stop marking them “USMC”. All subsequent pistols were marked "M45A1" on the slide. This particular pistol is one of the rare early ones with the "USMC" marked slide. It is NIB having never been fired outside the factory and comes packed in a Colt pelican case deployment pack with two magazines, Otis cleaning kit, and a factory test target serial numbered to the gun showing one ragged hole. These are getting harder and harder to come by.
