I think I heard something about it on one of the firearm blogs I listen to occasionally.
Supposed to be a new more concealable pistol that has an easy-to-use slide for those with medically weaker hands, vs their standard line-up.

That would be the opposite of smooth. I'd go so far as to say it would be unnecessarily bumpy or lumpy.
