I made this and messed with staining the inside. A little bit bled through on one corner, doesn’t effect anything but there might be a slightly darker spot when stained. It’s not stained currently (I hate painting and staining). I could stain and poly it for an additional $50 (again, it’s my least favorite part). The top and bottom are 3/4” maple plywood. Holes pre/drilled 16” center so you can hang it with two and a half inch screws into the stud. If you wanted a center hole drilled for a drywall anchor/screw I could do that too.

The lock is magnetic, and the “key” can be mounted on whatever decor you want later. The foam isn’t glued in, so you can remove it to trace and cut out whatever gun you want. After that glue the foam in with simple super glue and you’re set. For $10 more I’ll include a motion activated light for the inside, and another magnet to put under the foam which would keep whatever gun more secured.

I realized I worded that odd. I didn’t want to cut the foam for my Glock. The foam in the pic goes with the shelf.
