I wish I would have purchased mine from Lowe's with my military discount. But I was hoping I'd get the 286 piece from Amazon. Knew it was a longshot the way my luck runs. Mine shipped from TN. You people that got the 286 piece need to send them back and explain you ordered the 230 piece.

I'm disappointed and it will get returned.
You don't like the 12 point half inch? I did read that they are flank drive. Meaning the points dont touch the bolt points so no rounding. Seems a lot of half inch kits are 12 point now days. Also some suspension stuff is 12 point.

For hobbyist tools they seem like a value for a hundred bucks. What would you recommend in that price range? Or just spend more?

I didn't research the 12 point. I've sure rounded a few bolts with 12pt in the past. The ratchets do however feel pretty good. It is tough to compare the value

I used the new ratchet today and a 17 year old craftsman ratchet and there is no comparison. The old one feels like absolute junk. Feels like about an 8 tooth and sloppy and light. For a guy that works on one or two trucks here and there it's just right for me.

There isn't much in the middle ground with tools it seems like. Its either these craftsmans or comparable or a big jump in price. Even the cheapest junk there is gets the jobs I have to do done. Its more about convenience having the whole set for me.

I received mine yesterday got the 230 piece set, seems like a decent set for the price thanks for the heads up!!
They have this set for 99 dollars. It has drawers that work and all organized. Heck of a deal. They sent me the 262 piece instead of the 230. They might be out of the 230 and just upgrading the orders. Seems like an incredible deal to me. Very happy with it
