Pre-Rascal days, I got the gkids a Marlin Lil Buckaroo but ended up getting wooden stock Crickett to shorten stock (27" OAL) as the Marlin was little too big to start with. Then quickly went to Marlin.

Oh, say 20+ years ago I bought my daughter a Henry Mini Bolt. Can’t speak to some of the others but it’s leaps and bounds above a Cricket IMO. She loved it and now it’s getting ready to introduce a whole new generation to shooting.
